NEW in Sigma Beauty

Today I thought I would do a small recap of all new products that Sigma Beauty has released since the begging of the year. For few of them I'm really excited, for few not so much; those products are the individual eyeshadows and brow products, eye shadow bases,brush cleaning glove and the limited edition Resort palette.

Let's start with the individual eyeshadows. Sigma Beauty released the eyeshadows in 30 different colors that  Bare,Dare,Flare and Paris palettes have, although they are planning on adding more colors in the future. Each eyeshadows contains 2.5g of product and the packaging is black with clear lid.

Now the brow products. As you may know, not that long ago Sigma released a brow kit which included all the goodies you might need to create the perfect eyebrows. To be honest I think that kit is good for makeup artists not for personal use because it has many different brow powder shades. Well now, you can buy the products in that kit individually; brow powder duos, brow pencil, highlighter pencil and brow gel.

Next we have the eyeshadow bases. They come in 9 really pretty shades and each base has 5g of product. The packaging is a clear jar with black lid; personally I think that it is a little bit too big for the product but it is very pretty.

You can either buy them individually or in set of 3 which also include a concealer brush, the F70. They named each set the same as their palettes Bare,Dare and Flare. The Bare kit has the shades in Pose, Persuade and Sculpt. The Dare kit has the shades in Unveil, Strike and Dash. The Flare kit has the shades in Spy,Pursue and Provoke.

The next product is the Spa Brush cleaning glove. It's a glove that has 6 different texture areas on to help you clean your face and eye brushes easier. It comes in 4 different colors: Pink,Turquoise,Purple and Black.

I was pretty excited when I first heard of this one but when I saw the price I was kinda disappointed. Personally if I had the extra money I would definitely buy it but for me, now, it is quite pricey.

The newest product is the Resort palette which is limited edition. It has 8 beautiful eyeshadows in variety of colors, dual sided pencil,liquid highlighter and blush. Personally I'm super excited for this one and I LOVE the eyeshadow colors in this palette.

I don't know about you guys but I find this palette great for spring/summer time because of the lovely colors and you can create many pretty looks. I really hope I will be able to buy it once my spending ban will end.

Sigma F45 Buffer Brush Review

Hi everyone, how was your weekend? Sadly it's Monday tomorrow and this means I start my Uni classes again :(. Anyways, today I will review the Sigma F45 Buffer brush. Before I got this brush I never used a powder brush to set my foundation or to apply mineral or powder foundation. The reason is because I preferred the result when I was using a puff instead of a brush but everything changed after this brush.

I always wanted to try a kabuki brush because for some reason I thought it will be better than any powder brushes and I think I was right!  Then again I haven't tried every powder brush that exists so maybe some preform better than this brush. Also it all comes to personal preference and the powders you use because not everyone wants the same result,right? And some powders apply heavier than others and in this case a kabuki brush might pick up too much product.

As you can see from the photos it is very dense brush. After washing it few times it shed a little bit,it lost about 2 or 3 hairs but that's nothing compared to how many hairs this brush has. The Sigma F45 is very soft brush but not the softest I have tried.
I have used it for powder and blush application and works wonders.You know, sometimes I don't want to put liquid or cream foundation on my face, I just want something that will even out the skin tone a bit. So for that I use this brush and powder foundation. This brush is great for buffing products. To be honest  I think I might even use this brush for bronzer on days when I don't want very define contouring.
Overall I would totally suggest you to pick it up in the future if you like apply powder with brush. It is a bit pricey but still it is a lot cheaper that over brands' kabuki brushes.

Sigma E55 and E70 Review and Photos

Hello my lovely readers, happy Sunday :). Today for me is a relaxed day and I will have two posts on my blog, the Sigma E55 and E70 Review and a Nail Art tutorial! The Sigma Eye Shading and Medium Angled Shading brushes are my recent purchases from Sigma along with F80, E35 and E45. These two brushes are the standard brushes that I believe every girl should have.

First we have the Sigma E55 Eye Shading brush. It is the typical "pack on" eyeshadow brush. It has very soft natural bristles and it is very dense. This brush is not complete flat which makes it great for even blending the eyeshadows in the crease not just to packing the eyeshadow on the lid. Mostly I use it to apply the eyeshadow on the lid, under the brow and even inner corner. Actually I prefer this one over the e.l.f. professional eyeshadow brush which I used to love in the past but still like( e.l.f.'s is very good brush if you don't want to spend a lot of money on brushes). Lastly I want to mention that this brush hasn't lost any bristles at all and I have washed several times.

The next is the Sigma E70 Medium Angled Shading brush. To be honest the name is pretty much self explanatory. This one has very soft natural bristles too and it is quite dense. I was expecting it to be slightly fluffier than it is. This brush is very good if you want kinda more precise eyeshadow application in the crease. I use it mostly to apply highlighter under the brow and in the inner corner but also if sometimes I run out of simple eyeshadow application brushes like E55 I might use this one. The E70 lost few bristles after washing it couple time but not too many. Even though I like this brush sometimes I prefer my fake MAC 275 because it's fluffier but it always comes down to what I want to do with that brush when I'm applying eyeshadow.

Overall I must say that I'm really happy with these two brushes and I don't regret buying them :). If you would ask me which of these two you should buy, I definitely would suggest the E55 because I believe it's more versatile brush!

August Favorites 2012

Ok,ok I know I'm kinda late with my August favorites but better now than never right? So I'm not sure if I will be doing favorites posts every single month simply because I don't buy new things every month plus I tend to stick with my old favs so...You can read my July Favorites here. Here are my August favorites:

Bioten cleansing wipes: I use those wipes to remove my makeup and they do great job. They aren't the softest but they are well moisturized and I like it.

Summerline Hydrating cream with insect repellent effect: Basically during this summer in Greece it was crazy with mosquitoes so I decided to try one of those protective creams and this one worked for me,plus it is based on different plants not chemicals :)

MUA Undressed palette: Well not much to say here I just love this palette and I've using a lot. You can read the review for it here.

MUA lip boom in Doing Good: I really really love the lipstick part of it and I have recieved many compliments when I'm wearing it. The lipgloss though isn't my favorite. Read the review here.

Revlon Age Defying concealer: I looove this one. I have been using a lot during summer and less in winter because the color is slightly dark for me in winter. It has good coverage and staying power. The only downside is that I think it has been discontinued :(

e.l.f. wet gloss lash and brow clear mascara:  This is simple clear mascara that helps me with keeping my eyebrows in place. I have been using it for almost a year now. You can read the review here

Lancome hypnose drama mascara: This is great mascara and I like it but it's a bit expensive. You can read the review here.

e.l.f. Complexion brush: This brush is so so soft. I love using it for powder and blush. I think if don't own this brush you should,it's great value!!

Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush: I have said it in the past but I'll say it again: This is my favorite brush for foundation! You can read the review here.

Blue smokey eyes tutorial

Hello my lovely readers. This is my 101st post,I can't believe that I have posted 100  times,hope you enjoyed if not all of them at least the majority :)...If you have been following me for some time you probably know that I'm neutral girl,I pretty much always choose neutral eyeshadows when I do my makeup. But today I though I would show you something with color that other girls who like neutrals will probably like too. This isn't an everyday look but it is great for a night out. Tutorial:

-First apply your primer and an eyeshadow base.

-With a crease brush like Sigma E45 apply a matte brown eyeshadow ( Shade 5 from MUA Undressed Palette) in the crease and blend it.

-With eyeshadow brush like Sigma E55 apply a dark blue eyeshadow ( Bossy Bobbi ) all over the lid leaving out the inner corner.

-Next with a fluffy brush like Sigma E35 apply a dark eyeshadow ( Feisty Felicia ) on the outer 1/3 of the lid and while blending it bring it slightly in the crease.

- With pencil brush like MAC 219 apply a light blue eyeshadow( Shade 10 ) on the half of the lower lid.

-With the same pencil brush use the dark color ( Feisty Felicia ) to line the other half of the lower lid.

-Lastly to highlight use an eyeshadow brush like Sigma E55 apply the highlighter shade ( Devilish Danielle ) in the inner corner and under the brow.

- And finally apply your mascara ( Lancome Hypnose Drama ) and you are Done :D

-If you want to have a sharp edge like on the pictures either use scotch tape before you start or after use a cotton swab and some makeup remover or water clean it, to make the sharp edge.

-Enjoy

Sigma E35 and E45 Brushes Review

Hello my lovely readers. Hope you all had a great weekend. Today's post will be my review of Sigma E35 and E45 brush. I must say that ever since I got them they became my favorites, you can see my Sigma haul here. Although many of you might be familiar with those brushes I thought I'll do a review with my thoughts on them. :)

First is the E35 tapered blending brush. This a lovely blending brush. The handle is nice shiny black,as I like it, and it's perfect length if you ask me ( around 12 cm). Also it isn't too thick nor too thin.
The bristles are very soft and not scratchy at all. In some reviews some people say they would want them softer but for me they are good as they are although,yeah, they could be softer. While washing and using it i didn't notice any shading or bleeding.
I find myself using it for blending and eyeshadow application. It works great in both cases although some might prefer brushes with shorter and more stiff bristles for blending.It's quite fluffy and round shaped on the top.
This brush might be a bit too big for people with small eyelid area.

The second is the E45 small tapered blending brush. Let me first say that it was hard to find it in stock when I wanted to buy it, I guess a lot people buy it but I finally did as you can see :). Now, the handle is pretty much the same as the previous brush,it's just a tiny bit longer than E35.
The bristles are dense and firm yet soft. They are shorter than E35 and pointy. What I notice is that after washing it couple times it became slightly fluffier than it was at the beginning. I mainly use it to apply color in crease and outer v area but I also use it to blend the crease eyeshadow and it works great.

Overall I love both of them. Though I know they aren't the cheapest brushes you can find, mostly because the international shipping cost is a bit pricey. The shipping cost is cheaper when you buy set of brushes than when you buy individual brushes.
I must say that I find they being great quality and they work great for me.

Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki review

The Sigma F80 brush is one of my latest purchases from Sigma. When I finally decided to order from Sigma I just couldn't not buy this brush as so many people been raving about this brush. This is one of the brushes from their Sigmax collection. When comes to foundation I pretty much always wear liquid foundation and before I buy this brush I was using stipple brush from this set.

I must say that people who have been raving about this brush are right, I'm in love with the F80. If you ask me this brush is perfect for cream and liquid foundations.

The total brush length is around 15,5cm (6.1 in) and the handle length is around 8cm (3.1 in). The brush feels a bit heavier than other brushes but this is indication that it is well made.

The bristles are synthetic which is great from cream/liquid products.Also they are incredibly soft,not scratchy at all and very dense. When I use this brush the buffing process is so easy and quick and gives flawless finish to my skin.

To be honest this brush is multipurpose. I have used for foundation application like I said. Also I've used from powder blush and bronzer application and it works like charm. Generally it's an amazing brush for buffing.

After the first wash,while I was using it for foundation application, it lost 2-3 bristles but honestly that's almost nothing and I wouldn't consider this as a problem.

I know some people have hard times cleaning this after liquid/cream products but my cleaned pretty easily. Well if you don't clean your brush for 5 days after using liquid/cream products don't expect it to be easily cleaned, right?

Overall I'm in love with this brush... In my opinion this is a must have for people that use liquid products and not only. From now on this is one of my favorite brushes.

Sigma Cleansing and Polishing Tool Review

Several months ago I entered a giveaway on handamadereviews for the Sigma Cleansing & Polishing Tool . Surprise,surprise I won that giveaway (that was the first time I ever won a giveaway). As you can understand when I recieved it I was super excited to try it and I did. As a matter of fact I've been using this for a long time,probably close to a year now. Now I finally decided to review it,eventhough probably many of you might have already  tried it.

This tool works with two AA batteries and it's water resistant but not waterproof so keep that in mind.

It comes with 3 brush heads,soft,medium and firm:

Soft (pink): good for everyday fecial cleansing

Medium (pink & white) : good for everyday body exfoliation

Firm (white) : good for deeper body exfoliation

I use this tool,probably,around 2-3 times a week and that's only because I'm a bit lazy :P. I have used both soft and medium on my face but bare in mind that my skin isn't very sensitive. The firm one I only use it on

my body... Now on the site, I see that they changed the firm head but I don't know if it is any different from mine over than coloring.

They also came up with 3 extra heads,spa solution kit, that you can buy for this cleansing and polishing tool. Of course in case you need a replacment for any of the 3 original heads,they have replacements for each head.

Usually I use this with some kind of cleanser but if I feel like my skin really need a good exfoliation I will use some kind of exfoliator with this tool but this might be too harsh for someone with sensitive skin.( soon i'll post a home remedy that i usually use to exfoliate my face and body) .

It has 2 speeds though I would say it would be better if it had 3 with 1 even slower speed for people with sensitive skin. For me the 1st speed works great for my face and the 2nd for my body.

This tool almost has never broke me out,only few times and that's because I used the medium head on high speed on my face so basically it was my fault.

One drawback is that pretty much whenever I use it splashing will occur so I usually use in shower or over the bath  but because it isn't waterproof I have to make sure my hand isn't too wet.

Something that would be nice is if Sigma would sell it separately so you could buy with the heads and the amount you want since some might be only interesting in one head.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a tool that will help you with your daily cleansing routine then this is definitely a tool that you should try. Specially with the extra 3 heads they have it's like your own mini spa at home. 
I believe this won't irritate your skin if you use it correctly. Generally it's a good cleansing tool for you to use if you are on a budget and/or don't want to spend more that $40
