Essie Fall 2013 Collection Review and Swatches

Hello ladies. Today I will show 3 lovely nail polishes from the Essie's Fall 2013 collection. In total the collection has 6 colors and I have the shades The Lace is on,For the twill of it and After School Boy Blazer to show you. So let's see the swatches:

The Lace is on: The color is a pinkish purple and I did really like it from the first time I saw it. Actually this and the next shade immediately caught my eye when I saw the collection.The formula is good and it's fully opaque with 2 coats. While the finish is quite shinny on it's own and you wouldn't need top coat for extra shine I would still use top coat simply because it can peel quite easily, specially if your hands are consistently in water.

For the twill of it: It was so hard to picture this duochrome nail polish so the second picture shows, in the best way possible, all the color changes. It's a pretty purple,grey and blue duochrome... I don't  about you but I'm a sucker for such nail polishes, they add that something extra to your manicure without the need of some kind of nail art...The formula is great and so is it's longevity.

After School Boy Blazer: If you want to rock dark nails in fall but don't like black this is the one you should get. It's a really dark blue and you'll see a bit of blue only in direct sunlight. The formula is really good and it's very opaque, you can even get away with just one coat...Personally I prefer wearing such dark colors on short nails not long,what's your opinion?

Overall, I like all 3 shades and I think they are great colors for Autumn/Winter. Also surprisingly all of them have great formula and I mention this because I've heard Essie nail polishes sometimes can be hit or miss. Essie Penny Talk

Essie Penny Talk is one of nail polishes from the Mirror Metallic collection that Essie released in Summer 2012. The color you see in the bottle has nothing to do with the actual color; in the bottle it looks gold and on the nails it is a beautiful rose gold shade. I was looking for such color for a very long time to be honest.

The color is, like I said, rose gold with metallic finish which almost looks like foil depending on the lighting. The formulation is kinda tricky to work with. I find that if you want to go over the area you just painted before it drys you most likely gonna create bald spots but because the nail polish is opaque, with careful application, you might get away with just 1 coat ( for the swatches I used 2 coats). It is slightly streaky but due to it's finish you most likely won't be able to tell it. The wear time is good and I actually prefer wearing it without top coat. Something that I wanted to mention is that this nail polish stained my nails even though I was wearing base coat but I was able to remove it by slightly buffing my nails with a buffer.

Overall I really like the color and although it's a bit hard to work with I will continue using it just because it's a really pretty rose gold nail polish that I always wanted. On side note, if you have ridges on your nails I would definitely suggest you to use a ridge filler base coat because I feel like this formulation will makes them more obvious.
