For quite some time now I've been searching for a good drugstore liquid eyeliner. The past couple months I've been using Avon Supershock eyeliner and I still love it but because the shade I have is dark, reddish brown I needed a pitch black shade so I bought the Catrice Liquid Eyeliner Waterproof in Don't Leave Me. I've heard Nikkie from NikkieTutorials mentioning it quite few times so I decided to give it a go and I'm glad I did.
The packaging is sleek, slim, black tube with cyan detailing; -which you can't tell from the pictures above- the writing and the top part of the liner is in a beautiful deep cyan color and I personally love this combination. The brush handle or more accurately the felt tip handle is the right size, not too big not too small. Don't know about you but I find the brush handle size quite important as it can help or not the application. I honestly felt in love with the tip of this eyeliner because it's flexible yet stiff enough and you can easily achieve that perfect wing that we all want.
In the past I didn't have good luck with drugstores eyeliners and pretty much always the formula was bad and/or not very opaque, except for once when I bought an eyeliner from a Greek brand which turned out amazing for only 2 euros. . Well this eyeliner is definitely not in this category and I was seriously impressed with when I first swatched it.The color payoff is great and you get pitch black line with only one swipe. Because of the great felt tip you can easily create think and thin line, by simply changing the pressure with which you're applying it, so you will have the perfect winged line.
Not only it has great color payoff but it also stays on for really long time. In case you don't know, I have pretty oily eyelids and I definitely need eyeshadow primer to make the eyeshadow stay on for good amount of time. I tested this eyeliner with and without primer and it stayed on for good 7-8 hours in both cases until I kinda needed a bit of touch up. I'm saying kinda because basically it started slightly flicking of on the wing part of the eyeliner but nothing crazy or too noticeable and I can easily get away without even touching up. With that being said I have to categorize the Catrice Liquid Waterproof Liner as a long lasting and not waterproof eyeliner. But say you're outside, it started raining and you don't have umbrella you definitely won't look like panda, at least not because of the eyeliner so it still get's thumb up from me even though the waterproof claim is not very accurate.
All in all, Catrice Liquid Waterproof Liner in Don't Leave Me is definitely one of the best drugstore eyeliner that are currently available and it retails for around 4.5 euros. If you haven't tried yet I would recommend it and I think you won't be disappointed, at least I wasn't! Have you tried it? What's your favorite liquid eyeliner?
This looks so good, I have tried the Loreal one which had a similar applicator and that was good. I wonder if this is available in the UK?
